Since the age of five, Cierra has not found a stage that she did not want to dance on. Trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, musical theatre, and modern at her hometown studio, she worked tirelessly to be as versatile a dancer as possible. During high school she trained in advanced modern dance technique, studying the work of Laban, Horton, and Graham. She choreographed numerous solo, small group and large group performance pieces and was asked to assist in teaching an introductory level dance course at Stockton University. She has taught introductory, intermediate, and advanced level classes in jazz, contemporary, and hip hop. She also danced professionally with the Washington Wizards for two seasons.

Throughout her collegiate career, Cierra was a member of the nationally-ranked Rutgers University dance team, where she performed at home football and basketball games and competed on the selective jazz and pom teams at the Universal Dance Association national dance competition. While at Rutgers, Cierra spoke on Good Day New York Fox 5, appeared in Rutgers University promotional commercials, and was selected to be in a Nike commercial.

As Miss New Jersey 2014, Cierra shared her dance talent with a wide audience and was awarded the preliminary talent award three out of the four years she competed for the title. This led her to fulfill her dream of performing on the Miss America stage.

In 2010, she started The Young Artist Empowerment Project, a program that uses free visual and performing arts as a strategy to enable economically-disadvantaged adolescent girls to achieve educational success through artistic expression. The program has served over 1,000 students since its inception. The culmination of the program allows students to produce and perform in their own community arts showcases, as a means of fundraising for charitable organizations and bringing the local community together in celebration of the arts.  Through the Arts Empowerment Project, Cierra was invited to go on a school speaking tour, which reached over 3,000 elementary and middle school children, and expanded her outreach to churches, public schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCAS/YWCAS, CHASA(Community House After School Academy) at Princeton University and other after-school programs. Cierra received a fellowship to present the research-based curriculum that frames the program in Hyderabad, India at the Womens Worlds Congress. Each year, The Arts Empowerment Project hosts various “Stuff a Backpack” Drives, which donated thousands of school supplies to local urban schools, and in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, donated over 5,000 school supplies and uniforms to shore town schoolchildren in need. Cierra also initiated arts, leadership, service, and public speaking workshops for the Girl Scouts of Southern and Central New Jersey and served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader through their Outreach Program to a troop of young girls in kindergarten through sixth grade in a low-income community. Now, Cierra travels to host Arts Empowerment Project workshops with interested groups and organizations across the country.
